Dr. Daniella Thorne is Associate Director, Health Equity and Education at Advocates for Youth and she is an adjunct professor at CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy.

Dr. Thorne is a public health leader with over a decade of experience in health education, youth advocacy, and technical assistance—working across school districts, non-profits, and community-based initiatives to advance adolescent sexual and reproductive health.

She conferred a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and then a Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Management from SUNY Albany.

She held roles as a Graduate Assistant, Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP), as a Health Educator at Albany Leadership Charter High School for Girls, an Intern, NY State Department of Health, and a Researcher at Center for the Elimination of Minority Health Disparities.

She then pursued her Doctor of Public Health in Community Health Behavior and Education from Georgia Southern University. She worked as a Graduate Research Assistant & Teaching Assistant, Georgia Southern University, then a Program Manager, Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Power & Potential (GCAPP) – WISE Initiative, ad later a Senior Program Manager at Advocates for Youth.

Dr. Thorne currently is Associate Director, Health Equity and Education at Advocates for Youth and also Adjunct Professor at CUNY Graduate School of Public Health.
