Founder Story

Probably like you, I fell into public health.

In 2017, I was bewildering my way to medical school until my first semester in my MPH program. Getting an understanding of the systemic and social inequities driving poor health outcomes was eye opening to me.

While also learning skills, tools, and frameworks to address these root causes made me decide to stay in public health. This felt empowering knowing I can use my skills to make a difference in communities and help marginalized populations.

Though acquiring a lot of knowledge and skillsets throughout my MPH, I felt a lack of highly useful resources to help navigate my public health career.

I felt the disservice of not having the right resources and professional development to help accelerate my career during my MPH program.

So I did all the research and utilized the tools I had to maximize my MPH. I was able to secure a prestigious Community Health Fellowship before graduating.

This is when I started The Public Health Millennial to share the information I wish I had to best understand and navigate my career.

Since then, I have attained a position I was “under-qualified” for. I continue to create resources and content to support public health people and create stronger community.
