Dr. Jan K. Carney, MD, MPH, MACP is the Master of Public Health Program Director and is Associate Dean for Public Health and Health Policy and Professor of Medicine at the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont.
Dr. Carney is active in public health practice, research, education, and service.
She got her Bachelor of Biology/French/Premedical Studies at Middlebury College. She then went on to get her Doctor of Medicine at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
Dr. Carney then got her Master of Public Health from Harvard School of Public Health. She worked as Deputy Commissioner of Health at the Vermont Department of Health before becoming the State of Vermont, Commissioner of Health. She served here for 14 years.
Dr. Carney was then a Clinical Professor at the University of Vermont College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
She currently serves as the Master of Public Heath Program Director and Associate Dean for the Public Health and Health Policy and Professor of Medicine at the Robert Larner, College of Medicine at The University of Vermont.
