Dr. Gia Grier McGinnis, DrPH, MS is the Executive Director for Center for Community, Service, and Justice as well as the York Road Initiative at Loyola University of Maryland.
Gia got her Bachelors of Arts in Environmental Studies at Washington College. After graduating she joined the AmeriCorps VISTA for Student Environmental Leadership Development Program Manager at Children’s Environmental Health Network.
She then went on to get her Master of Science in natural Resource and Environmental with a focus on Environmental Justice from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. During her time here, she was a Research Assistant for Minority Environmental Leadership Development Initiative at University of Michigan.
Gia then became a Public Outreach Specialist at Tetra Tech. Then went on to an Assistant Director at Johns Hopkins Center for Social Concern. She was able to get a Certificate in Risk Sciences and Public Policy from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She shifted into the Interim Director role for Civic Engagement at Johns Hopkins Center for Social Concern and then was an Associate Director of Johns Hopkins Center for Social Concern.
Gia pursued her DrPH at Morgan State University. After graduating she became an Executive Director for CURE Scholars Program at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Gia currently works as the Executive Director for the Center for Community, Service, and Justice & the York Road Initiative at Loyola University Maryland.
