Hi there! My name is Asli McCullers, and I’m an Associate Student Contributor here at The Public Health Millennial.
Welcome to the The Emerging Changemakers Zone, where I’ll be sharing recaps on informative, fun conversations I have with up-and-coming health equity champions – many of them current students! I’m already learning that simply reaching out and initiating dialogue is the best way to learn and empower others!
I will also be sharing thoughts, tips and reflections on the transition from student to early-career public health life, and any other content that may be useful to you all. Thank you so much for tuning in! 😀
About Asli
I’m currently a 2nd year Master of Public Health candidate at the University of Delaware in the concentration of Epidemiology.
I’m super eager to be embarking on a career in applied health equity research and programming. In addition to my Graduate Research Assistantship at University of Delaware, I am the Founder and Director for Leaders in Equity, Access and Diversity in Public Health, Social Justice Peer Educator with the Office of Institutional Equity, Assistant Coordinator of Blue Hen Bounty Food Pantry, Secretary of Black Graduate Student Association…and a host of other rewarding involvements that would take 10 years to list, lol (feel free to add me on LinkedIn)!
Outside of school, I’m a Health Equity Research Associate at MedStar Health Research Institute and a Program Intern at Black Women’s Health Imperative. I hope to use my growing body of experience to help amplify the voices of historically marginalized populations and improve health outcomes for communities worldwide.
