Christie VanHorne, M.Ed, MPH shares her public journey in this weeks episode of the podcast. Christie has over 15 years of experience of conceptualizing and designing results in public health education.

She got her Bachelors of History in Genocide Studies and International Relations from Manhatanville College. After this she went onto volunteer for the Peace Corps as a HIV Community Resource Volunteer in South Africa where she stayed for two years. She opens up about the personal difficulties with working in a community where 1 in 3 people had HIV/AIDS.

When Christie returned to the US, she worked as a Reproductive Health Educator for Planned Parenthood. In 2009, she left for Australia to get her Masters of Public Health at Monash University. During her time she worked on a World Health Organization Sex Worker Tool Kit.

She has started her company, CVH Consulting LLC in 2014 and more recently has started How to Talk to Your Doctor which is a sister project of CVH Consulting LLC.
