Episode 86 of Public Health Careers

Rose A. Marcelin, MPH is an Interdisciplinary Scientist at the US Department of Health and Human Services. Additionally, she runs the Focused Health Collective where they are re-examinig our understanding and engagement with public health, our individual health, and the health of our communities.

Rose got her Bachelors of Science in Family, Youth, and Community Science at the University of Florida. After graduating, she went on to become a Family Care Counselor at Family Preservation Services.

She then decide to get her Master of Public Health at the University of Florida. While here, she worked as a Supplemental Instructor at UF as well as a Public Health Intern at US Department of Health and Human Services.

After graduating, Rose then got a job as a Research Supervisor at UF, Weight Management Project. She then moved into a Research Coordinator position at Institute for Child Health Policy at UF College of Medicine, Department of Health Outcomes and Policy.

Rose then went on to become an ASPPH Public Health Fellow at CDC, Division of Population Health. She then transitioned to a Senior Health Communication Research Specialist position at ICF Next. She then transitioned to a Senior Public Health Analyst at Aveshka, Inc.

She currently works as an Interdisciplinary Scientist at US Department of Health and Human Services. Additionally, she is the Founder of Focused Health Collective and is currently applying to DrPH programs.
