Episode 83 of Public Health Careers

Jasmine Drake, MPH is a Community Developer at Prince George’s County Health Department in Maryland.

She got her Bachelors of Arts in Biology at the University of Virginia (UVA). During her time here she was a Program Assistant at Lorna Sundberg International Center, she had an alternative spring break in the Dominican Republic, and a study abroad experience in Costa Rica through James Madison University.

After graduating, Jasmine went on to do a Panama Initiative Fellowship where she was a Researcher through UVA. She then went on to go to the Americorps as a Diabetes Educator at The Institute for Family Health and then another Americorps position as a Volunteer Coordinator at NYC Department of Parks & Recreation.

Jasmine then decided to get her Master of Public Health at CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy. Her concentration here was in Community Health and Social Sciences. She was a Summer Quest Leader at Fordham’s Liberty Partnerships Program as well as a Community Health Organizer at Montefiore Health System and a Program Coordinator at Fund for Public Health in New York City.

After graduating she became a Program Manager at Howard County Health Department. And she now works as a Community Developer at Prince George’s County Health Department in Maryland.
