Episode 145 of Public Health Careers

In today’s episode, we have Dr. Ashanti Carter, Ed.Dc, MPH, the Co-Founder and CEO of HEROES ED as well as an Adjunct Faculty at Trinity Washington University, and Chair of the DC Office of the State Superintendent of Education. She’s someone working towards education equity.

She conferred a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development at UC San Diego worked as a Substitute School Teacher at Los Angles County Office of Education.

Ashanti then got her Master of Public Health at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science. During her time there she was an Admissions Counselor at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine & Science and Epidemiology Tutor and Medical Student Affairs Coordinator. Then worked as a Executive Special Assistant to the Chair at George Washington University.

She then got her Doctor of Education at The George Washington University – Graduate School of Education & Human Development. While she was there, she was the Director of The Health Education & Leadership Program and Program Manager of the Rodham Institute.

She currently works as Co-Founder and CEO of HEROES ED as well as Chair at DC Office of the State Superintendent of Education and is an Adjunct Faculty at Trinity Washington University.
