Interview with Jasmin Barber, MPH
Episode 113 of The Public Health Millennial Career Stories Podcast:
In this week’s episode, Jasmin Barber, MPH is a Pediatric Orthopedic Clinical Assistant at Michigan Medicine. She has experience and a passion for service, leadership, and a commitment to engaging, investing, and contributing to the pursuits to lessen barriers in public health.
Jasmin got her Bachelors of Arts in Biology with a concentration in health careers at Spring Arbor University. During her time here she was able to study abroad in France and Germany as a requirement of her program. She was a Peer Advisor at Spring Arbor University.
She then got her Master of Public Health at Grand Canyon University. During her time ere she was an Emergency Department Medical Scribe and Certified Scribe Trainer at ScribeAmerica. After graduating Jasmin still desired to get her medical degree which then changed to wanting to pursue a Physician Assistant Degree. After a tough conversation with her friend, Jasmin understood that she didn’t need to pursue any additional degrees to do the community oriented work that she would like to.
After her MPH, Jasmin worked as a Business Assistant at Infinity Primary Care, then worked as a Front Office Representative at The CORE Institute, and now she works as a Pediatric Orthopedic Clinical Assistant at Michigan Medicine.
