Amanda Mohammed, MPH, AEMT, GA-CEM, CHES is a Program Coordinator at Emory University’s Office of Critical Event Preparedness and Response as well as is an Epidemiology Assistant at the Georgia Department of Public Health. She is someone working at the intersection of public health and emergency management.
She conferred a Bachelors in Rural Community Development at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. During her time here she was a Summer Camp Counselor at Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta, a Public Health Intern at US Department of State, and had a Study Abroad experience in Rome.
Amanda then took a gap year and worked as an Accountable Health Communities Screener at Tift Regional Health System.
She then went on to get a Master of Public Health in Behavioral, Social, and Health Education Sciences at Emory University. During her time here she was a Graduate Research Assistant at Emory Centers for Training and Technical Assistance.
She also worked in several roles at Rollins School of Public Health, such as student representative, RSPH Education committee, community outreach liaison for student outbreak and response team, student ambassador co-leader.
Amanda was also able to be a This is Public Health Student Ambassador at the Association of School and Programs of Public Health.
During the pandemic, Amanda began working as an Epidemiology Assistant at the Georgia Department of Public Health where she still currently works. She also works as the Program Coordinator at Emory University’s Office of Critical Event Preparedness and Response.
