Dr. Ashley Hickson, DrPH, MPH is a Senior Health Equity Advisor at Center for Science in the Public Interest. She is a mixed method researcher who focuses n achieving racial justice, health equity, reducing health disparities, co-creating interventions alongside the subpopulations most adversely affected, and designing sustainable solutions to mitigate challenges to health and well-being.
Ashley got her Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and Bachelors of Science at The University of Texas at Austin. She then got her Master of Public Health at UT Health Houston.
After graduating, Ashley moved into a Social Worker role in the Disproportionality Unit. She then went on to become an Epidemiology Specialist/Disease Intervention Specialist at Tarrant County Public Health before being promoted to Community Health Information Exchange Epidemiologist/Investigator III Informatics.
Ashley proceeded to work as the Director, Community Impact/Health Equity at the American Heart Association. She now works as a Senior Policy Associate at Center for Science in Public Interest.
Ashley was named in the 2021 de Beaumont Foundation 40 Under 40 in Public Health list.
