Dr. Sixtus Aguree, PhD is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Iowa State University. He is someone whose research is focused on methods to optimize measurement micronutrient status in women: pregnancy, obesity, and global health as well as functional collaborative working partnerships on health and nutrition with researchers in the US and Ghana.
He got his bachelors of Science in Nutrition Sciences and Food Sciences at University of Ghana. He was a member of the National Disaster Management Organization. After this he took part in the National Service Scheme of Ghana before choosing to pursue a Master’s of Science in Nutrition at University of Ghana.
During his time there, he was a Research and Teaching Assistant at University of Ghana – Legon. And then as a Field Project Manager at University of Ghana. Dr. Aguree then went on to become a Faculty Member for University for Development Studies.
Dr. Aguree, then completed a PhD in Maternal and Child Nutrition with a minor in statistics at Penn State University where he was also a Graduate Research Assistant. After completing his PhD, Dr. Aguree went on to get a Postdoctoral Research Associate position at Iowa State University.
