Dr. Cale Lawlor, MBBS, MPH, MIPH is a Public Health Senior Medical Officer at Health Service Executive and a Community Building Coordinator at Coalition for Global Health Innovation. He initially trained as a medical doctor, but upon completion of a Double Masters of Public Health and International Public Health degrees, decided to move into a career in Public Health.
Cale got his Bachelors of Medicine and Bachelors of Surgery at University of New England in Australia. He talks about the streamlined and government supported process of getting his MBBS degrees.
He then was a Junior Medical Officer at NSW Health in Australia and then subsequently a Resident Medical Officer followed by a Senior Resident Medical Officer. While he was a Medical Officer he pursued both his Master of Public Health and Masters Degree in International Public Health at the University of Sydney, New South Wales.
Cale decided he wanted to pursue public health more and thus started working part-time with the Georgian Harm Reduction Network in Tbilisi, Georgia. He then went to become a volunteer aid worker at Dråpen I Havet (Khíos, Northern Aegean, Greece).
He continued on to become an Obesity Policy Research Assistant at University College Dublin and then got his current role as a Public Health Senior Medical Officer at Health Services Executive. And he now also works as a Community Building Coordinator at Coalition for Global Health Innovation.
