Episode 71 of Public Health Careers
Tabitha Reefer, MBA, MPH, CHES, CPH is the Owner of Tabitha Reefer Consulting where they specialize in grant writing, writing services, program evaluation, program coordination, professional workshops, and curriculum development. Additionally, they offer educational workshops on Work-Life Harmony. Tabitha also works as a part time as Program Coordinator at Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank.
Tabitha began her journey as a Bachelors of Arts in Anthropology and Applied Statistics at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She worked on the Pittsburgh AIDS Taskforce during her undergraduate.
She then went on to pursue her Master of Business Administration (online) at Ashford University in the Health Care Administration Concentration. During this time she was an Ancillary Assistant at Butler Memorial Hospital.
After this, Tabitha went on to pursue her Master of Public Health. First, she went to The George Washington University but was not a good fit for her personally and thus she started her Master of Public Health at University of Pittsburgh. I would note she got in on her third attempt after being rejected twice before.
After graduation, she was a SNAP Outreach Coordinator for Greater Pittsburg Community Food Bank. She then shifted into the Child Nutrition Outreach Coordinator at the same Food Bank. Tabitha was selected as a Board member and eventually the Vice President Board of Directors for the Richard G. Synder YMCA Campus from being referred to this role after applying for a “reach” job at the YMCA.
Tabitha began her consulting company when she initially moved to Hawaii. Her company, Tabitha Reefer Consulting focuses on where they specialize in grant writing, writing services, program evaluation, program coordination, professional workshops, and curriculum development. They also do educational trainings around work-life harmony.
Tabitha has most recently began working at Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank. She initially was the Project Coordinator but now is a part-time Program Coordinator, a role that she is more fitted for.
