She conferred a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at Florida A&M University, followed by a PhD in Health Communication & Culture at Howard University.

Dr. Edwards than pursued a Master of Business Administration as working mother at Walden University where she held faculty roles as an Associate of Graduate Faculty at the  University of North Texas and Graduate Faculty at Walden University, contributing to academic research and mentorship.

Her professional experience includes serving as Principal Research Scientist at the  National Network of Public Health Institutes, Senior Manager at  Susan G. Komen, and Grants & Development Manager at Safe States Alliance.
