Ilexis is CEO and Founder of Assertive Intuition Health Services.  

She is an entrepreneur supporting agencies with their social media and other marketing needs, an author of a children’s book focused on the pandemic called ‘The Day Everything Changed’

She conferred a Bachelors in Health Care Administration at Jackson State University. During this period, she gained experience through various roles, including a Mississippi INBRE Service Scholar at My Brother’s Keeper Inc, a Public Policy Intern at Planned Parenthood Southeast, and a Student Associate at the  American College of Healthcare Executives. She also participated in a study abroad program in Finland and Stockholm.

Between her degrees, Ilexis worked as a CDC Undergraduate Public Health Scholar and a Community Health Worker Research Intern at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. She then pursued a Master of Public Health in Health Promotion and Community Health Services at Texas A&M University.

During her graduate studies, she completed a Certificate in Health Coaching for Chronic Disease Prevention and Management at Texas A&M University and interned as a Hepatitis C Program Intern/Practicum Student at G.A. Carmichael Family Health Center and an HIV Health Literacy Intern at the Mississippi Department of Health.

Post-graduation, Ilexis served as the REACH Community Health Coordinator for Community-Clinical Linkages and Breastfeeding at Georgia Department of Public Health, later becoming a District Liaison for COVID-19 SPOC Operations and then a Project Manager.

Currently, she also works as a Public Health Analyst at the  CDC and participated in the Goldman Sachs One Million Black Women in Business Program. Ilexis is pursuing a PhD in Strategic Leadership at Liberty University.
