Ebony Johnson, PhDc, MSc, MA, is a current PhD Candidate in Sociology at University of Michigan while also being an Epidemiology Fellow at Emory University and the Chief Operating Officer at STEMulation Escape Room.

Ebony got her Bachelors in Public Health and Women’s & Gender Studies at Rutgers University. During her time here, she was a Peer Mental Health Educator at Rutgers Health Outreach, Promotion, and Education, a Senior Manager at Rutgers University Student Centers, as well as was Public Policy Intern, Outreach Worker, Peer Health Educator at Hyacinth AIDS Foundation.

After graduating, she continued working with the Hyacinth AIDS Foundation. She also worked as an Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics Volunteer Mentor. Then became a Project Management Support Specialist in Oncology Medical Imaging at Bioclinica (now Clario).

Ebony then went on to start her PhD in Sociology at University of Michigan. While getting her PhD, she also got a Master of Arts in Sociology and a Master of Science in Epidemiologic Science both at the University of Michigan. She was a Graduate Researcher and Sociological Research Methods Graduate Student Instructor at University of Michigan.

She has also has roles as a Project Manager at University of Michigan School for Environment and Sustainability, then a Program Assistant at The Ginsberg Center for Community Service and Learning, an Instructional/Design Services Consultant at Rutgers University, and a Outbreak Science Consultant at Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard.

Ebony currently works as the Chief Operating Officer at STEMulation Escape Room and as an Epidemiologist Fellow at Emory University, along with being a PhD candidate.
