Quisha Umemba, MPH, BSN, RN, CDCES, CHWI is the CEO and Principal Consultant at Umemba Health, LLC where they provide public health education and consulting. She is also the President and Co-Founder of Diversity in Diabetes.
Quisha began her collegiate career getting her Associates in Nursing Science at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She then became a Staff Nurse in the Surgical ICU at Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare Systems. During her time here, she was promoted into Change Nurse, Community Living Center position and then was promoted to Clinic Coordinator, Diabetes, & Endocrinology Clinic.
She then completed her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at University of Phoenix. Quisha then went on to get her Master of Public Health at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
After graduating, she got the position as Chief Nurse at Houston Health Department doing work around diabetes and colorectal cancer. She then transitioned into a Diabetes Nurse Consultant at Texas Department of State Health Services. During this time she got CHWI certified.
Learning of gaps and lack of diversity in diabetes work, Quisha Co-founded Diversity in Diabetes where she is the current President. She then worked as a Clinical Program Training Specialist at Caravan Health.
Quisha now leads Umemba Health, LLC where she is the CEO and Principal Consultant. At Umemba Health they help public health organizations and healthcare systems to educate their frontline workforce, empower their leadership, and expand their community presence to elevate the lives of the individuals and communities they serve.
