Interview with Bethany Simonne Hight, MPH, CHES
Episode 106 of The Public Health Millennial Career Stories Podcast:
Bethany S. Hight, MPH, CHES is a Health Educator at Gwinnett, Newton, and Rockdale County Health Departments. She has proven ability to provide values-neutral health education with experience working in adolescent health and youth development.
Bethany started her college career at West Georgia before transferring to Kennesaw State University where she completed her Bachelors of Exercise Science. During her time here, she was a student teacher as part of an internship.
After taking a gap year, Bethany got her Master of Public Health at Georgia State University in the concentration of Health Promotion & Behavior. During her MPH, she was had Practicums with Morehouse College, Georgia State University, was a student researcher in Health Promotion, Planning, & Evaluation project as well as got her Certified Health Education Specialist.
Bethany graduated during the pandemic and found it difficult to get into the public health field after graduating. After a year, Bethany was able to get a position as an Epidemiology Assistant at Georgia Department of Public Health. She now works as a Health Educator at Gwinnett, Newton, and Rockdale County Health Departments.
