Dr. Tiana Garrett-Cherry, PhD, MPH is the Founder and Principal Consultant at Indices Consulting, LLC. Tiana is a highly-motivated epidemiologist and science copyeditor with strong analytic and communication skills and over 15 years of demonstrated experience in disease surveillance and research in science and for public health programs.

She got her Bachelors of Science in Chemistry from Virginia State University. Tiana then went on to get her PhD in Cell and Development Biology at University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill. During her PhD, she was a Teaching Assistant & Graduate Research Assistant at UNC Chapel Hill as well as a Postdoctoral Fellow at UNC Chapel Hill.

Tiana continued on to get her Master of Public Health at UNC Chapel Hill in the concentration of epidemiology. This is where she truly honed her passion for public health. She then went on to get a Postdoctoral Research Assistant at National Institute of Environmental Science. Tiana moved on to become an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer at the DC Department of Health.

Then went on to become a Lieutenant Commander, Scientist at Commissions Corps of US Public Health Service and then moved on to become a Chronic Disease Epidemiology Assignee at CDC. Tiana then worked as a Bio-Surveillance Operations Analyst at the US Department of Homeland Security.

Tiana moved to Hawaii to be the Epidemiologist Coordinator at State of Hawaii and was promoted into an Epidemiologist. While here she was also the Associate Editor at Hawaii Journal of Medicine & Public Health.

Tiana transitioned into founding and starting Indices Consulting LLC. Indices Consulting LLC is a boutique consulting agency that provides expert epidemiologic support and technical assistance to achieve actionable public health solutions, with a focus on issues that affect women and their families. Indices Consulting partners with local and state health departments and non-profit organizations to explore how data can inform and drive evidence-based programs and interventions.
