Episode 2 of Public Health Careers
Shelby Graves, MPH, CHES is a Public Health Analyst I, Project Officer at the Health Resources and Services Administration. She is committed to advancing health outcomes and reducing disparities for families in my community and throughout the country.
She got her Bachelors in Community/Public Health at University of Central Oklahoma. During undergrad she worked as Public Health Practicum Student with Human Animal Link of Oklahoma Foundation, a Research Assistant at University of Central Oklahoma, and an Office of Health Promotion Intern at Oklahoma State Department of Health.
Then she got her Master of Public Health in Behavioral and Community Health at University of North Texas (UNT) Health Science Center. During her time here, she was a Graduate Research Assistant, Graduate Teaching Assistant at UNT Health Science Center, and as a Graduate Public Health Intern at Samaritan House.
After graduating she worked as a Teen Pregnancy Prevention Specialist at Oklahoma City County Health Department. Then was a Global Health Fellow at Asset Procurement Group before moving to into a Health Policy Analyst at the Maryland Department of Health. Then shifted into an Administrator of Family, Maternal & Child Health.
Shelby currently works as a Public Health Analyst for the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). During the interview, she was a Health Policy Analyst at Maryland Department of Health. She also freelances under ShelbyGravesFreelance.
