Episode 75 of Public Health Careers

Brenna Bernardino, MPH is a Project Officer at Marie Stopes Australia while living in Japan.

Brenna got her Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Spanish and Latin American Studies from the University of Melbourne. During her time there, she was a semester exchange student at The George Washington University. She was also able to be an Undergraduate Research Assistant and Health Research Assistant at University of Melbourne.

She then went on to get her Master of Public Health at The University of Queensland. During her time here, Brenna worked at the university in many capacities including Summer Research Scholar, Winter Research Scholar, Research Assistant, Facilitator of University of Queensland Stories for Reconciliation as well as a tutor.

Brenna was then a Administration Support Assistant at The Lowitja Institute. She was also an Aurora Intern at Griffith University. Brenna then moved to the USA and worked as a Survey interviewer at Mathematica Policy Research in Tucson, Arizona. Soon after she moved into a Program Coordinator role at the University of Arizona.

Brenna then moved to Japan and worked as a Research Administrator at Committix Pty Ltd. Then she worked as an Independent Consultant at the University of New England (AU) on the Daalbirrwirr Gamambigu (safe children) project. Brenna then used her network to do some freelance Research Consultancy with the University of Arizona.

Then she went on to become a Research Assistant at the University of Queensland as well as work as a seasonal contracted tutor there. Brenna currently works as a Policy Project Officer at Marie Stopes Australia. At Marie Stopes she also works part time as the Health Communications Officer.
