In the 50th episode of the podcast we have a special episode. Three wonderful ladies who have been on in previous episodes came back on to talk about their career progression and how everything has been going. In this episode we have Yasmin Kashfipour, MPH, Alicia Richins, MES, and Lovely Davilmar, BS. They share what they have been up to since our last conversations. Be sure to check this out for great insights from these trailblazing ladies broadly in public health.

The Three Guest Roles and Previous Episodes:

  • Yasmin Kashfipour – Senior Experience Strategy & Transformation Professional at Humana [Previously on episode 14]
  • Alicia Richins – Sustainability & Social Impact Consultant | Partnerships & Standards Manager [Previously on episode 4]
  • Lovely Davilmar – Consultant at Deloitte [Previously on episode 5]

Yasmin Kashfipour talks about her losing her job and starting in a new role at Humana and how she was able to network throughout this challenging part of her journey. She speaks to how she developed industry knowledge as an early public health professional. We talk a bit about diversity and inclusion, reading for self development, and the importance of setting work boundaries.

Alicia speaks about her old role in the Trade Accelerator. She speaks to her decision to take a chance on a contracted startup nonprofit instead of staying in a full-time role and this turned out to be a fruitful decision. Alicia shares a little about her Sustainability and Social Impact Consultancy, a bit about the public speaking route, and the high return on investment on self-development and investment. We then start to chat about global vaccine inequities and apartheid and the need for systems change to impact climate change.

Lovely who was a Health Analyst at IMPAQ International has shifted into the role as a Consultant with Deloitte. She speaks about how she was recruited for the position by continually optimizing her LinkedIn profile. She also speaks about the skillsets she utilizes in her role and just how powerful public health skillsets can be translated to other realms. Lovely talks about the importance of leveraging social media for opportunities and how to find your next public health role.
