Episode 27 of Public Health Careers

Leonore Okware is a public health researcher with over 14 years of national research which led to her creating her own consulting company, Public Health Research Consulting.

Leonore got her Bachelors of Arts in Sociology from Fort Hays State University. Then she went onto to get her Master of Public Health at Eastern Virginia Medical School. She got a role as a Research Assistant at Eastern Virginia Medical School where she found her passion for community engagement. She then went on to become a Research Coordinator in the same organization.

She then took a reach and applied to Research Health Science Specialist at US Department of Veterans Affairs. Then went on to work as a Grants and Research Manager at LSU Health Sciences Center.

Leonore then got a role as a Program Manager at the University of Maryland where she currently works. However she found a gap and created her consulting business to help new researchers navigate the program management process and other services.
